Please join us at Alley Cat Books for reading from a trio of amazing artists: Susan Gevirtz, Ryanaustin Dennis, and Anne Lesley Selcer!

Anne Lesley Selcer is a poet who writes about art. She is the author of Blank Sign Book—a collection of essays, and of Sun Cycle—a poetry book about the image. Her chapbooks and gallery publications include from a Book of Poems on Beauty,
Banlieusard, and Untitled (a treatise on form). Writing and poetry can be found in magazines like Hyperallergic, Jacket2, Fillip, Fence, GaussPDF, Open Space, Art Practical, Action, Yes! and The Chicago Review, as well as in gallery and museum
exhibition catalogs. Her work appears in several anthologies, and she occasionally creates off the page.

Ryanaustin Dennis is an Oakland based curator/artist/writer/cultural strategist. As the former founding member of The Black Aesthetic, a curatorial collective, their practice is concerned with how 20th and 21st century experimental performance, film, and writing histories are shaped by the metaphysics of blackness. They have done curatorial work for E.M. Wolfman Bookstore, Kadist, SFMOMA Open Space, Eastside Arts Alliance, Betti Ono, Soundwave Biennial, and is a Southern Exposure Curatorial Council Fellow. They currently co-curate the Black Life series at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive and is a co-founder of Project Kalahati at Pro Arts Gallery and Commons.

Susan Gevirtz’s books of poetry include Hotel abc, Nightboat; AERODROME ORION & Starry Messenger, Kelsey Street; BROADCAST, Trafficker; Thrall, Post Apollo; Hourglass Transcripts, Burning Deck; Taken Place, Reality Street; Black Box Cutaway, Kelsey Street. Critical books: Narrative’s Journey: The fiction and Film Writing of Dorothy Richardson, Peter Lang; and Coming Events (Collected Writings), Nightboat. Gevirtz has co-organized the annual translation and conversation meeting of The Paros Symposium with Greek poet Siarita Kouka, and guest organizers Helen Dimos, Eleni Stecopoulos, and Liana Sakelliou for fifteen years. She lives in the SF bay area.
